On-Site Mending

The underground terracotta warrior army was destroyed and burned only three years after the First Emperor's burial. All the warriors in the No. 1 pit were broken into pieces. Archeologists are reassembling the figures by an average of 80 pieces each. Their continuous efforts so far have yielded 1,087 figures.
